    GONZALES DE MENDOZA, Juan (1545-1618). Historia de las cosas más notables del gran reyno de la China. Medina del Campo: heirs of Benito Boyer, 1595. 8° (142 x 95mm). Title in red and black with woodcut device on verso, woodcut initials. (Marginal repair to lower corner of tile, repair with some loss to \kp\K2, occasional soiling.) Blue morocco by Brugalla, 1941, gilt supralibros, gilt spine-lettering, turn-ins and edges. Provenance: purchased from José Porter, 1941.

    The eighth edition published in ten years, showing the extraordinary public interest being taken in the 'great kingdom' of China. Like the earlier editions, it includes the celebrated 'Itinerario del nuevo Mundo'. Palau VI, 105501.
