Celebration in Hamburg for the election and coronation of FRANZ I (1708-1765), Duke of Lorraine and Bar, Grand Duke of Tuscany, as Holy Roman Emperor, with fireworks. These fireworks by the pyrotechnition SPANNINGER are depicted in the engraved plate "Feuerwerk in Hamburg zur Feier der Kaiserkrönung" by PEIFFER after FRITZSCH. They represent according to Lotz the height of German loggia and fireworks design. Berlin 2903; Drugulin 4427; Lotz p. 95.

The musical celebrations for the election and coronation of FRANZ I, composed by Telemann, a German baroque composer and contemporary of Bach and Vivialdi. He held a series musical positions, most imporatantly that of music director of the St. Petri churches in Hamburg , from 1720 until his death in 1767.
