2° (510 x 350mm). With half-title and printed dedication to Alexander I. Engraved title-vignette, 30 engraved plates by Sokolov. (Occasional short tears and light soiling in the margins, short tear on the title-page with old repair.) Contemporary Russian tree calf, flat spine gilt in compartments with bird tool (rebacked preserving the original spine, corners rubbed, hinges broken, free endpapers worn). Provenance: S.N. Kotov bookseller (small ticket on front endpaper).
FIRST EDITION. With engraved plates of the crowns and state regalia from the era of the Great Princes. Rare: ABPC records no copy at auction since the Sementchenkoff copy (sold Christie's, 22 October 1987, lot 723; £3200 hammer). Obol'ianinov 1141; Sopikov 7574.
