Original fawn cloth, spine gilt (edges darkened, extremities lightly rubbed), dust-jacket (torn with loss at upper edge of upper wrapper, backstrip torn with loss at head and foot, lower wrapper torn with more severe loss, some light staining). FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY, the front free endpaper inscribed, "For Ann [Bowes-Lyon] from David [Jones] June 1937."
AN INSCRIBED COPY OF "VERY PROBABLY THE FINEST LONG POEM WRITTEN IN ENGLISH THIS CENTURY" (W.H. AUDEN). Ann Lyon's only collection of Poems was published by Faber in the same year as In Parenthesis.
