Contemporary calf (extremities lightly rubbed). Spielmann 280: "Very rare ... Many of the scenes depicted are of astounding beauty, considering the tiny scale upon which the artist had to work. Of special interest are the fantastic pictures illustrating the apocrypha"; Welsh 938. Speilmann and Welsh both call for 81 engravings only, although it is not clear whether they include the title and dedication leaf.
