Hand-coloured lithographed portrait frontispiece and 5 folding hand-coloured plates, one additional plate tipped-in at end, one leaf of publisher's advertisements (minor even browning, a little thumb-soiling). Publisher's cloth gilt (extremities a little rubbed). Second edition.
BUTTON, John V. The Brighton and Lewes Guide. Lewes: J. Baxter, 1805. 12° (166 x 104mm). Folding engraved frontispiece, vignette of Lewes Castle on title, 2 plates and one map (outer margin of title soiled, a few leaves detached, lightly browned throughout). Late 19th-century wrappers. Provenance: Cornelius Paine (ownership inscription on pastedown and title) -- John Brown (bookplate) -- W. H. Willis (bookplate on verso of title and rear pastedown).
