2 volumes, 4° (347 x 260mm). Title vignettes and 64 plates, most in vol.1 printed in black and red and finished by hand, vol. 2 with some lithographs on india paper. (Some foxing, occasional marginal dampstain.) Contemporary russia gilt, sides panelled in blind and gilt, marbled edges.
FIRST EDITIONS, with a higher complement of plates than often, many of these colour-printed and finished by hand. The archaeologist James Millingen had excellent access to private collections, making public previously unpublished material. Blackmer 1135 (63 plates only); Brunet III, 1724. (2)
