A RARE COLLECTION printed on papier d'Annonay, six of the volumes bound by Derome. As Quérard notes, Mad. de Montesson had only a tiny number of copies printed for her most intimate circle ('12 dit-on'), and none was for sale. All the plays were presented in her own theatre and being 'une excellente actrice de societé' she frequently played roles herself. Although described as volume I, the Mélanges of prose and poetry was not followed by others. Brunet IV, 164; Quérard 248: 'cette collection, devenue très rare, est rangée maintenant parmi les livres precieux'. (8)
