Contemporary Italian calf gilt, edges gilt (some light rubbing, stain on upper cover, front hinge starting). Provenance: S.E.D. Paolo Borghese (bookplate; catalogue of the Bibliothèque de S.E.D. Paolo Borghese, Rome, 1892, no. 261).
PAOLA ODESCALCO was nineteen when she died a Duchess in Naples. The large folding plate shows the enormous catafalque erected for the occasion of her funeral at the Chiesa Gelormini. RARE.
