London: The Nonesuch Press, 1937-1938. 24 volumes, including original steel-engraved plate in uniform cloth folding box also containing the Nonesuch Dickensiana, large 8° (255 x 160 mm). Engraved title vignettes and plates, facsimile wrappers from the original parts. Original buckram, each volume in a different colour, black morocco spine labels lettered in gilt, top edges gilt, others uncut (some light ?ink spots on spines, occasional minor rubbing to extremities, Nonesuch Dickensiana folded).
THE NONESUCH DICKENS. LIMITED EDITION, one of 877 copies. The original steel-engraved plate by Hablot K. Browne ('Phiz') is 'Emotion of Mr Kenwig on hearing the family news from Nicholas' (from Nicholas Nickleby, p.468).
