Engraved frontispiece, title printed in red and black, 4 double-page engraved maps, 28 engraved plates, most double-page, illustrations. (Lacking 4 preliminary, unnumbered, leaves between dedication and beginning of text on leaf signed B2, numbered p.1; hole in dedication leaf affecting 2 letters, 2 plates torn without loss, dampstaining throughout, mostly quite light but more pronounced to some leaves). Contemporary calf (rebacked, rather worn, erosion to lower forecorners). Wing O166; Cox I, 275: 'Although the title page reads "First Part," this volume is complete in itself.'
