Engraved frontispiece by MELCHIORE DI BELLA after GIUSEPPE VELASQUEZ and 5 engraved plates (4 double-page, one folding) by BARTOLOMEO POLLINI and GIOVANNI GRAMIGNANI after the designs of SALVADOR ATTINELLI, engraved head- and tail-pieces, title-page vignette (folding plate with long repaired tear). Contemporary cat's-paw calf gilt.
These funeral ceremonies for CHARLES III (1716-1788), King of Spain and the Two Sicilies, was held in Palermo on 13 August 1789. The text contains a relation of the proceedings by the royal historian, two orations and an elegy. The plates of the temporary architecture and decorations by Salvadro Attinelli include the final large folding plate of the catafalque. Berlin 3275.
