ROSSINI, Gioachino (1792-1868). Autograph letter signed ('G. Rossini') to a friend [Count ?Rosponi], Florence, incompletely dated, informing the recipient of a forthcoming performance of an opera by [Carolina] U[c]celli and urging him to attend 'coi vostri lumi, e colla vostra ben esperimentata indulgenza', not least as a homage to the fairer sex and to the composer of Saul ('si tratta di onorare il Bel Sesso, voi che ne foste sempre candido estimatore vorreste essere cortese col autore del Saul'), one page, 8vo, integral address leaf.
