3 works in 4 volumes, octavo (195 x 127 mm). 24 engraved plates including frontispieces, with pink tissue guards. (Occasional light browning, some minor tears to deckle edges, occasional minor soiling.) Uncut in near contemporary green quarter morocco, original printed wrappers of first title preserved, spine with raised bands, lettered directly, other compartments centred with gilt fleurons, marbled endpapers (corners rubbed). Provenance: Marius Herail (pictorial bookplate).
FIRST EDITION. THE COMPLETE TRILOGY, WITH ALL THE PLATES AND IN A UNIFORM EARLY BINDING. In the past forty years at auction AE and ABPC record no copy of Autour du mariage; only one copy of Fleurs, the Simon-Nordmann copy; and only one incomplete copy of Liqueurs, lacking the second volume. Not in the Bibliothèque nationale de France; WorldCat locates only one complete set, in the British Library. Dutel 64, 307, 469; Perceau 140-142 (the last part not seen by him); Pia Enfer (‘very rare’).
