Oblong folio (254 x 331mm). 39 lithographs by various artists and lithographers. (Occasional light marginal soiling, one plate with slightly shorter margins, worm hole in the top margin near the gutter.) Original red half-roan and drab boards, round printed label on the upper side dated 1823 and priced in manuscript .35 roubles (spine and corners chipped and worn, some soiling).
IN THE ORIGINAL BINDING, AND WITH ONE ADDITIONAL PLATE. A collection of lithographs, by Kolmann, Orlovskii, Aleksandrov and others, showing scenes and various modes of transport in St. Petersburg and its surroundings. Copies are known with a varying number of plates; the list of caption calls for 38 plates but this copy includes 39. RARE: not in Colas or Lipperheide. Cf. Colas 2778 and 2779 for the 1823 and 1824 editions with respectively 25 and 35 plates.
