Engraved vignette on title and 16 vignettes, 16 coloured heliotype plates by W. S. Vanderbilt Allen. (Occasional spotting and soiling, a few creases and small repairs, mainly to margins.) Loose as issued in 4 parts each in original red backed pictorial boards of a distinct colour and design housed in an original portfolio backed in calf, modern red cloth box gilt (original boards lightly soiled, original portfolio lacking ties and with a few soil marks and stains). Provenance: Van Alen (book label).
LIMITED EDITION, NUMBER 78 OF 1000 COPIES, WITH FINE COLOURED PLATES. The cover title calls for 'A collection of Forty-four plates of Coaching, Hunting, Amateur Races and Horses in Show Rings' but the project was never finished.
