Engraved titles and 14 plates (occasional very light spotting) but A GOOD COPY in contemporary calf, compartments of flat spine panelled in gilt (lightly rubbed). Provenance: William Gover 15 April 1794 and January 19 1830 (inscriptions on an endpaper). Spielmann 17 (calls for engraved titles and 12 plates only).

Engraved portrait by Marshall, with the final errata leaf (portrait inlaid, a few light spots and stains). Early 19th-century blue straight-grained morocco, gilt supra-libros on sides of the Society of Writers to the Signet, gilt edges (extremities rubbed). FIRST EDITION. Wing H349; Grolier 417.
ALCIATI, Andrea (1492-1550). Emblemata, edited by Claude Minoe. Antwerp: B. Moretus, 1648. 16° (114 x 77mm). Woodcut device on title and penultimate page and 211 emblematic illustrations in the text. Modern calf, gilt edges. This edition not mentioned by Praz.
