With final errata leaf in each volume; Novikov's stamp on the verso of the second title. 19th-century marbled boards, gilt-lettered red morocco label on spines, edges sprinkled red (light rubbing). Provenance: 18th-century reader (inscriptions deleted from titles) -- Paul M. Fekula.
FIRST EDITION, RARE: 530 copies were seized from Moscow bookshops in 1787 for the Masonic content and, following his arrest in 1794, 1605 copies of various parts were seized from Novikov's house. Bitovt 2000; Fekula 5774 (this copy); SK (Periodicals) 138. (2)
