A description, in the form of a letter from Gualdo Priorato to Cardinal Barberino, of the wedding festivities honoring LEOPOLD I Holy Roman Emperor and King of Hungary and Bohemia and his third wife ELEONOR MAGDALENE of the Palatinate in Passau on 14 December 1676. This work was published in Vienna to coincide with the celebration of the wedding at that city's Carnival in February 1677 and includes a description of those festivities as well. The fine plates illustrate the wedding procession into Passau, the triumphal arches ornately decorated and erected for the occasion, and the impressive fireworks display which occurred in Vienna to commemorate the event.
