Four lithographed views of Philadelphia on one sheet, each image 265 x 495 mm, overall images 630 x 1020 mm. Matted and framed (not examined out of frame).
The four lithographic views comprise: North View, Looking across Chestnut St. towards Spring Garden, Northern Liberties, and Kensington; East View, Looking down Chestnut St. across the Delaware, Camden N.J. in the Distance; West View, Looking up Chestnut St. towards West; and South View, Looking towards Navy Yard, Southward and Moyamensing. “All four lithographs composing the complete set of Whitefield’s Philadelphia views… are complex, comprehensive images of the city, drawn with the artist’s characteristic delicacy and precision” (Deak 614 and 614).
