2 vols., quarto (253 x 180mm). 68 and 27 black and white photographs, some printed on coloured paper. Original photo-illustrated card covers; the covers for vol. 1 silkscreened by Koichi Tokunaga (this one with a small faint dampstain in the gutter of the inside back cover, a trace of rubbing).
FIRST EDITIONS. RARE. BOTH VOLUMES SIGNED BY CO-FOUNDER DAIDO MORIYAMA. 'Workshop' was founded in 1974 by Moriyama, Tomatsu, Araki, Hosoe, Fukase, and Yokosuka, each of whom led a small group of students. These two volumes were published by the students of the Moriyama class, and include work by Seiji Kurata, Koichi Tokunaga, Osamu Takizawa, and others. After 'Workshop' was dissolved in 1976, Kurata, Tokunaga and Takizawa were joined by Keizo Kitajima and opened the Camp Gallery. (2)
