The case of architectural form set with porcelain plaques enameled with birds and foliage, the dials with characters, on a pierced base centered by a panel of a bird, the reverse of the case stamped 35393, the reverse of the porcelain plaques with corresponding numerals

Lot Essay

A clock of nearly identical form to the present lot by Houdebine et Cie, dated circa 1880, and possibly retailed by Escalier de Cristal was sold as part of a garniture Christie's, New York, 23 April 2004, lot 93. An additional related clock was sold as part of a garniture Christie's, London, 6 March 2014, lot 197.
