The case surmounted by ball finials to all angles, brass side handles above rectangular fish-scale sound frets, the 7in. wide painted dial with Roman chapters, subsidiary calendar, strike/silent to arch and signed Robert Wood/London, gilt-brass hands, the triple chain and fusee movement with six ring turned pillars, verge escapement, striking the quarters on nest of eight bells and the hours on further bell, repeat signature to plaque mounted on the backplate with foliate engraved border
