The tapering square section case decorated with brickwork to all sides, set with a dial to the front with applied Roman chapters, with vacant silvered plaque to the plinth, the glazed top section revealing an oscillating helical torsion pendulum mounted with glass panels and simulating the light, the movement with twin barrels and strike on gong, stamped GLT/PARIS and VINCENTI and numbered 217
