A PRIVATE EUROPEAN COLLECTION OF INDIAN PAINTINGS (LOTS 1-27)
Christie's is delighted to offer a selection of twenty-seven lots from a Private European Collection of Indian Paintings. This is the second instalment of this collection that was offered in our Online Only sale India on Paper (29 May-12 June 2014). It included important Indian paintings such as The Death of Pralamba from a dispersed Bilaspur series of the Bhagavata Purana, circa 1770-80 and the Equestrian Portrait of Raja Sujan Singh by Ustad Qasim that sold successfully during the sale. The present selection includes fine examples from most Indian schools, from Pahari paintings to Mysore examples through to Rajput and Mughal works.
