    Lot Essay

    La technique graphique de Lagneau, si reconnaissable, est semblable sur pratiquement l'ensemble de ses portraits dessinés. Sur un fond de pastel noir, il utilise le pastel rouge par touches brèves pour marquer les rides du personnage et le contour des yeux.
    Un portrait de vieil homme, proche du présent dessin, et portant également une calotte est conservé au musée Condé (voir Lagneau, cat. expo., Chantilly, musée Condé, 2006, no. 10).
