    The rectangular hinged top with geometric banding in ebony and mother-of-pearl centred by a chessboard flanked by the monogram 'C.A.' above a laurel-wreath, enclosing a baize-lined playing surface with featherbanded and flowerhead-inlaid wells to the corners, above a panelled frieze, on square tapering legs headed by mille-raie panels, the top distressed, extended in width
    29¼ in. (74 cm.) high; 39 in. (99 cm.) wide; 20 in. (51 cm.) deep
