The initials 'A.S.' and 'C.S.' are probably for Adelaide, Dowager Countess Spencer, 2nd wife of Frederick, 4th Earl Spencer, and Charlotte, Countess Spencer, wife of John Poyntz, 5th Earl Spencer.
