A LARGE BOOKCASE CABINET, CIRCA 1930
Rectangular, veneered in palmwood, with eight doors revealing sycamore interior, each compartment with swivelling unit incorporating shelves and drawers, the doors folding back to allow various configurations, five locks in the upper rim, oxidised brass handles
Printz created another version of this cabinet a few years later, this time setting it on a base of patinated metal scolls (illustrated), marking his progression towards a more baroque style. He exhibited this variant at the Salon d'Automne, Paris, in 1943
