    Cette remarquable table illustre une période phare de l'oeuvre de Pierre Garnier, durant laquelle il réalise des meubles aux lignes sobres, exécutés principalement en acajou et dans lesquels l'influence de l'anglomanie alors en vogue est très manifeste. Parmi les autres oeuvres de Garnier caractéristiques de cette période, nous trouvons en particulier les sièges exécutés pour l'hôtel de la Place des Victoires du marquis de Marigny ou les tables gate leg.
