A BRONZE BELT HOOK AND MATCHING PLAQUE WITH CHAINS
NORTHERN OR NORTHWEST CHINA, 5TH CENTURY BC
Each half of the ensemble is cast as a feline with whorls on the haunches, shown crouching on a bar formed by two serpents. The hooks are formed by creatures whose tails terminate in dragons' heads, and each half is attached by a pair of linked chain.
