A Chinese jardiniere with flattened everted rim, painted in coloured enamels to the exterior with a continuous band of birds perched on rockwork and below butterflies in flight amongst trailing branches of fruit and blossom, the rim with interlacing ruyi heads, key-fret and hatch pattern motifs -- 14in. (36.8cm.) diam, 19th Century.
