ADDITIONAL CHARGES AND SHIPPING RATES
In addition to the winning bid amount, the winning bidder will be responsible for a Buyer's Premium amount equal to 20 of the winning bid. US Sales tax, where applicable, will be collected before the property can be released. For international buyers, the terms of sale are Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU), and duty and sales tax will have to be paid by the client prior to shipment. For fashion items, you may not be eligible for preferential rate of duty and/or tax. If the winning bidder has a valid reseller's certificate for their purchase, they must seek reimbursement from the applicable government entity or other organization.
Shipping charges will be applied to all lots based on the destination of the property, according to the following schedule:
Domestic US shipping, including Alaska and Hawaii: $56.00;
International shipping by zone:
Zone 1: $65.00;
Zone 2: $90.00;
Zone 3: $109.00;
Zone 4: $181.00.
Shipping of the property will be handled exclusively by Christie's 3rd-party shipper. The in-person collection of this property is not permitted; all purchases will be shipped.
Loss and Damage Liability charges associated with shipping will be applied based on the winning bid, destination of the property, and property type. For fine jewelry, domestic charges will equal 0.7 and international charges will equal 0.8 of Winning Bid + Buyer's Premium + Sales Tax with a $30 minimum. For all costume jewelry, fashion & accessories, and decorative arts, domestic charges will equal 1.5 and international charges will equal 2.0 of Winning Bid + Buyer's Premium + Sales Tax with a $15 minimum.
Prospective purchasers are advised that several countries prohibit altogether the importation of property containing protected animal materials. Accordingly, clients should familiarize themselves with relevant customs regulations prior to bidding if they intend to import property into another country.
