A HUANGHUALI RECESSED-LEG LUTE TABLE, QINZHUO
Late 16th Early 17th Century
The well-figured top panel set in a thick frame with "ice-plate" edge supported on slightly splayed recessed legs of circular section, joined by a plain apron with cloud-collared spandrels, all originally a single piece with the spandrels separated from the apron for ease of assembly, the front and back legs joined by double oval stretchers, the underside supported by three transverse braces
