the crudely chased and fluted baluster terminal with traces of gilding on a slightly tapering stem, engraved on the back of the bowl with a coat of arms* by Martin Hewitt, 1615 - 16cm long, 1.25oz.
* Armorial of Skinner. It is interesting to note that Sir Thomas Skinner, Lord Mayor of London in 1596 was a member of the Clothworkers Company (Master 1584) Aldermann Bishopgate 1587, Criplegate 1596, and died leaving three sons and three daughters. The cadenly indicates that this spoon may have belonged to his third son.
