In black lacquer decorated in low relief in tones of gold, silver and red with mountainous landscapes, the interior with one main and two smaller compartments, one smaller with hinged cover, and decorated with delicate flower sprays, the large brass hinges featuring cockerels inside and out, the lockplate a double-headed eagle motif, raised on later claw and ball feet, together with two Japanese brushes
