Qur'an XXII (sura al-hajj), vv.13-22 (part), Arabic manuscript on vellum, each side with 13ll. of bold neat black kufic script, verse markers as three black strokes, with one marker in the shape of a gold rosette, vocalization marked with red dots, two inscriptions in black naskh script along the left edge on flesh side, the folio with Qajar illumination in gold foliage on dark blue ground outlining each word from the text, within gold and polychrome frame, the catchwords in gold thuluth script within illuminated medallion

Other folios from this Qur'an, although without the added Qajar illumination, were sold at Christie's, King Street, 10 October 2000, lot 5; 23 April 2002, lot 2. Another is in the Nasser D. Khalili Collection (F. Deroche, The Abbasid Tradition, London, 1992, cat.14, p.61).
