In the gothic revival taste, the rectangular railed basket supported on free-standing tapering andirons, incised with geometric ornament and applied with foliate and scroll mounts, below the pierced roundel surmounts, on open arched bases, the backplate to the grate cast in relief with triple rosettes, the reverse with a lozenge date mark
