A Nepalese paubha on cloth depicting a Padmapani Shrine
17th/18th century
Padmapani stands in the centre of the shrine with both hands holding a lotus flower, flanked by Hayagriva to his left and Sudhanakumara to his right, near the borders Sariputra and Maudgalyayana, a central three-tiered paviljon with the Buddha Sakyamuni and the five tathagatas above, and set against a background of twelve horizontal registers with divinities and donors
