A Siena plate
Circa 1745, probably Ferdinando Maria Campani
Painted with the triumph of Galatea, Galatea borne on a large shell chariot by putti and tritons blowing on horns, near a coastline with distant buildings and mountains, within a manganese line and ochre rim (slight crack to border from rim at 7 o'clock, flaking to rim)
9¾ in. (24.9 cm.) diam.
