A SOUTH GERMAN GORGET
Circa 1540
Constructed of four hinged plates front and rear, with locking-studs at the neck and shoulder, the uppermost plate with boldly roped strongly flanged turned edge, the lower frontal plate struck with a mark and with riveted early repair at the left shoulder, and the rear lower plate fitted with modern pins for spaulders (the latter with small rust hole, the internal leathers replaced).
