Alfred Wickham Jarvis exhibited at the Arts and Crafts Exhibitions of 1896 and 1899. He designed furniture, which was then executed by A. Stephens, but he undertook carving and gesso work himself.
The initials ASF are believed to be those of Alfred Sullivan Fletcher, who's brother was the artist, Frederick William Harrison Fletcher, who worked alongside Edward Burne-Jones and Gabriel Dante Rossetti.
Other items designed by Wickham Jarvis are illustrated in The Studio of 1898 and 1899. An article on Wickham Jarvis appeared in Country Life on 4 July 1991.
