Lot Essay

Lin Yong, born in 1942, is a native of Chaozhou, Guangdong province. Lin, a graduate from the Chinese Painting department of the Guangzhou Art Institute, holds high-ranking positions in many art institutions such as the Guangdong Painting College and Guangdong Artists Association. He specializes in portraits and flower-and-bird paintings, as well as art theory and illustrations.

Born in Shanghai, Dr. Zhu Kangyan is active in California as a promoter of Sino-American business collaborations and investments. He also translated such Chinese literary classics as Laozi's Daodejing and has been published in scientific journals.
