Guiana in their war paint', images of workers in the cane fields and sugar factories. Mayson M. Beeton, son of the famous culinary author Mrs. Beeton, was Secretary of the Anti-Bounty League and Late Special Commissioner for 'The Daily Mail' in the West Indies. He wrote extensively on the problems which arose in Britain and the colonies as a result of the implementation of foreign sugar bounties, and was a leading figure in the fight for their abolition.
