Lot Essay

The present work is the artwork for a poster commissioned for the 207th Royal Academy summer exhibition in 1975. The composition includes several of Blake's own works, for example 'Liberty in a Kimono' and a section from 'Got a Girl' - both of which were included in the 1983 Tate Gallery exhibition.
