Lot Essay

Peter Wylie Davidson and Jessie M. King taught at the Glasgow School of Art together. Davidson wrote two books called Applied Design in Precious Metal and Educational Metalcraft and a variation of this clock is illustrated in the latter. The tiny flower buds, meandering foliage and birds are all in keeping with designs of Jessie M. King both in silver and in drawings.
