NOTE:
1. The colophon by Gao Shiqi recounts that he visited Song Luo (1634-1713) in the xinsi year of the Kangxi era (1707). During this visit, Song presented Gao with this painting by Tang Yin, because Gao did not have any original painting by Tang Yin. The painting was since remounted by Gao and became a treasured piece in his collection
2. For brief biography of Zhang Zhen, see Zhongguo Meishujia Renming Cidian, Shanghai Renmin Meishu Chubanshe, 1981, p.838
3. Wu Yi, sobriquet names Yiye and Chaxiang Jushi, was the nephew of Wu Kuan. For brief biography, see Zhongguo Meishujia Renming Cidian, ibid., p.290
