A COMPLETE RUN WITH FEW DEFECTS OF THIS HIGHLY RARE AND HISTORICALLY IMPORTANT AMERICAN CRICKET MAGAZINE. As volume 43 appears not to have been published, it was in effect 51 volumes published over 52 years. While American dynamism and that uncontainable desire to compete shows itself in every number, the magazine is international as well as national in outlook, containing the most varied articles on cricket by players and sports writers, many of whom are English. Between 1891 and 1914, the title-pages and part titles are extremely innovative in design and constitute some of the most memorable images in cricket publishing; one can also see the interest gradually extending from cricket to take in golf and tennis. A true mine of information about the development of America sport at a crucial historical period. Sold as a periodical, not subject to return. Padwick 4050.
