Led Zeppelin/The Who
Silkscreen concert poster for The Who with Led Zeppelin at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD on 5/25/1969. Classic (and very scarce) early domestic poster for both bands. This show has gained notoriety as the only time the Who (touring behind the just-released "Tommy") and Led Zeppelin (only on their second US tour) shared a stage on US soil. Interestingly, The Who were theoretically the headline act on this show (they played a longer set), but by the time Zeppelin returned in the fall of '69, they shared headlining status with no one. Very few posters show up from the early Zeppelin tours. This one is especially unique for its ultra-1960's style hippie artwork. Due to what is likely an extremely low print run, very few of these posters have survived in the nearly four decades since the show. This poster originally came from a member of the concert's promotional staff. 22x28in.
