Vernon Watkins was a Welsh poet and close friend of Dylan Thomas. Watkins was a member of the Swansea group known as the 'Kardomah boys' along with Ceri Richards and Alfred Janes, the composer Daniel Jenkyn Jones and writer Charles Fisher.
